Ventures

Intervention and structure for portfolio companies when momentum slips and clarity is missing.

Targeted intervention when portfolio risk becomes operational.

Ventures exists for moments funds prefer not to discuss publicly. When a portfolio company slows down, drifts, or quietly stops converting effort into progress, the risk is rarely obvious at first. Meetings get longer. Priorities blur. Decisions stall. Performance softens without a single clear failure point.

Founders feel it early. Funds see it later, often when value has already started to erode. Ventures is where we intervene. Ventures is activated selectively, only when a portfolio company’s operating discipline has weakened enough to threaten momentum, valuation, or fund-level confidence. The objective is stabilisation.

We step in to restore operating control. Working directly with the leadership team, we diagnose where execution has broken down and impose clarity where ambiguity has crept in: priorities, operating rhythm, decision structure, communication, and the systems required to sustain focus. This is controlled. You see the effects quickly, because decisions shorten, accountability returns, execution becomes measurable again.

The company stops reacting and starts operating deliberately. For the fund, this reduces exposure, protects value, and prevents isolated issues from compounding into portfolio-wide drag. For founders, it replaces noise with structure and restores the conditions required to execute.

Ventures engagements are:

  • limited in number
  • time-bound by design
  • discreet
  • exited once stability is restored

This work is not marketed broadly and is never instructional. Engagements are designed to complement existing boards and leadership, not replace them. Capacity is deliberately constrained. If a portfolio company is showing signs of drift and the cost of inaction would be material, a private discussion is the appropriate next step.

We will assess whether intervention is warranted and whether we are the right party to execute it.
